CLEMENS UNTERREINER was born in Vienna. In 1998 he began his vocal art studies with Hilde Rössel-Majdan, Gottfried Hornik, Helena Lazarska and Wicus Slabbert. Numerous national and international opera and operetta productions as well as lied evenings, oratories and church concerts. Guest soloist in the Große Saal of the Wiener Musikverein, at the Wiener Konzerthaus, Palau de la Musica and other international concert halls. Member of the ensemble of the Wiener Staatsoper since 2005, where Clemens Unterreiner for example sang Sharpless, Faninal, Donner, Harlekin, Melot, Brétigny, Schtschelkalow, Oberpriester des Apollon(Alceste), Happy (La fanciulla del West), Musiklehrer (Ariadne auf Naxos),Schaunard. Also as guest soloist at the Volksoper Wien he very successfully performed as Papageno or Sharpless. Further engagements led him to the New York Carnegie Hall, the Royal Opera House Copenhagen, to the Strasbourgh Opera, the Salzburger Festspiele, Opera de Nice, Linzer Landestheater, the Oper Chur, the Sommerfestspiele Heidenheim as well as to the Richard Wagner Festival Budapest.
The conductor, pianist, composer and author Frédéric Chaslin was born in Paris and received his training at the conservatoire of his hometown as well as the Mozarteum in Salzburg. In 1989 he began his career as the assistant of Daniel Barenboim in Paris and at the Bayreuther Festspielen. In 1991, he became the assistant to Pierre Boulez with the Ensemble Intercontemporain. Frédéric Chaslin gave his international debut as a conductor in 1993 at the Bregenz Festival. He was then the musical director at the Opera in Rouen. From 1999 to 2002, he was the chief conductor of the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra. In 2002 he gave his debut at the New York Metropolitan Opera. His performances have led him, among others to Berlin, Munich, Leipzig, Madrid, Barcelona, Rome, Venice, Paris, London, Los Angeles and Tokyo. He gave his debut at the Wiener Staatsoper in 1997 and directed a large number of performances, like Il barbiere di Siviglia, La Bohème, Les Contes d’Hoffmann, L’elisir d’amore, Guillaume Tell, Lucia di Lammermoor, Macbeth, Tosca, La traviata, I puritani, Roberto Devereux, Stiffelio, Mefistofele, Werther and La Juive.
Juan Diego Flórez was born in Lima (Peru) and studied in his hometown as well as at the Curtis Institute in Philadelphia. In 1996, he gave his opera debut in Matilde di Shabran at the Rossini-Festival in Pesaro. Since then, the tenor is one of the most sought after singers of his style. He has celebrated triumphs in recent years among others at the Milan Scala, the New York Metropolitan Opera, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, as well as in music centres like Paris, Florence, Bologna, Genua, Turin, Rome, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington, Munich, Barcelona, Madrid and the Salzburger Festspielen. Since 2001, Juan Diego Flórez has an exclusive contract with DECCA. Several of his recordings have one many prizes, and in addition, he has won numerous official rewards. Juan Diego Flórez gave his debut at the Wiener Staatsoper in 1999 as Conte d’Almaviva (Il barbiere di Siviglia) and has since also sung Rinuccio (Gianni Schicchi), Lindoro (L’italiana in Algeri), Arturo (I puritani), Elvino (La sonnambula), Tonio (La Fille du régiment) and Nemorino (L’elisir d’amore). He is an Austrian Chamber singer.
Dan Paul Dumitrescu was born in Bucharest (Romania) in 1966. Initially he studied clarinet, then voice at the Music Academy in Bucharest. In 1996 he attended the International Academy for Opera in Verona. Immediately after completing his vocal studies at the Music Academy, he was engaged at the Bucharest Opera. He has won numerous national and international singing competitions.
Dan Paul Dumitrescu appeared as a guest on important stages, for example, the Royal Albert Hall, the Arena di Verona, La Scala in Milan, the New Israeli Opera, the Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, the Wiener Musikverein, furthermore he performed in Munich, Budapest, Berlin, Paris, Tokyo and at the Salzburg Festival.
In 2000 he made his debut at the Wiener Staatsoper and has been a member of the company since 2001. His repertoire includes more than 50 bass roles, e.g. Sarastro, Pimen, Gremin, Procida, Enrico VIII., Ramfis, Pistola, Sparafucile, Banquo, Raimondo, Oroveso, Graf Des Grieux, Balthazar, Colline, Timur, Pietro, Grenvil, Graf Rodolfo, Mönch and Großinquisitor (Don Carlos in italian and french version).
After his studies at the Musikhochschule in Vienna, where he studied among others under Walter Berry, Adrian Eröd’s career went from the Wiener Kammeroper over the Landestheater in Linz to the Wiener Volksoper and finally the Wiener Staatsoper, which would play a central role alongside his international engagements to his artistic future. Since his debut in 2001 at the Wiener Staatsoper as Mercutio inRoméo et Juliette, Adrian Eröd has sung works like Guglielmo, Beckmesser, Loge, Conte d’Almaviva, Figaro (Il barbiere di Siviglia), Dr. Falke, Albert, the leading role in Benjamin Brittens Billy Budd, Olivier (Capriccio) and the male leading role- which was written for him – Jason in Aribert Reimanns Medea. He has also sung, among others at the Teatro La Fenice in Venedig (Harlekin), an der Hamburgischen Staatsoper (Pelléas), an der Oper Frankfurt (Prospero in Adès’ The Tempest), bei den Bayreuther Festspielen und an der Oper Zürich (Beckmesser). Finally, he has sung e.g. at the Tokyo National Opera, the Opéra de Paris and at the Bayreuther Festspielen.

MICHAEL LAURENZ comes from Halle an der Saale in Germany and started his career in music as a trumpeter, playing e.g. with Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester and later on as first trumpet with Berliner Symphoniker. In 2006 he turned his focus towards singing. After some time as a member of Opernstudio Zurich, he became an ensemble member in the same city in 2010. The same year, he made his debut at Bregenz Festival, where he returned in 2014. Since 2010 he has been performing regularly at Opéra national de Paris, and in 2012 he debuted at Salzburg Festival. He has also sung at Bayerische Staatsoper, Musikfest Stuttgart, Staatsoper Unter den Linden and Vlaamse Opera. In 2015 he performed in Amsterdam, Milan and at Theater an der Wien, among others. His concert repertoire reaches from Bach all the way to the 20th century. He is scheduled to sing at Brecht festival Augsburg/Kurt Weill-Fest Dessau, in Glyndebourne, Lyon, Zurich, Antwerp and at Teatro alla Scala. He joined the Vienna State Opera ensemble at the beginning of the 2018 season.
ILEANA TONCA was born in Rumania and studied at the Music Academy in Bucharest. She has won several singing competitions and has performed in Bucharest, Brasov and Timisoara as well as on tours in Germany, Austria, Italy and France. She has been a member of the ensemble of the Wiener Staatsoper since 1999, where she debuted as Jemmy (Guillaume Tell). Furthermore, she has for example sung Woglinde (Das Rheingold, Götterdämmerung), Waldvogel (Siegfried), Echo (Ariadne auf Naxos), Lisa (La sonnambula), Xenia (Boris Godunow), Mädchen (Aufstieg und Fall der Stadt Mahagonny), Elvira (L’italiana in Algeri), Nannetta (Falstaff), Barbarina (Nozze di Figaro), Oscar, Papagena, Zerlina, Sophie (Rosenkavalier, Werther), Stimme vom Himmel and Tebaldo (Don Carlo), Zdenka (Arabella), Adele (Fledermaus), Servilia, Musetta, Adina, Susanna. Furthermore, she performed in productions of children´s operas (Traumfresserchen, Peter Pan, Bastien und Bastienne, 35. Mai, Pinocchio, Pünktchen und Anton). In 1999/2000 she was awarded an advancement award by the Waechter Medal Foundation. In 2004 she received the Austrian frauen.kunst.preis.
Zoryana Kushpler was born in Lviv (Ukraine). At the age of five she took piano lessons with her mother, later she changed to the violin. From 1993 on she studied vocal arts in her father´s class at the University of Music in Lviv. In 1998 she changed to the University of Music in Hamburg. Performances have led her for example to Zurich, Geneva, Venice, Milan, Florence, Hamburg, Berlin, London and to Bern, where she was member of the ensemble of the Stadttheater Bern from 2004 to 2006. There, she interpreted roles like Sesto (Giulio Cesare) or Preziosilla (Forza del destino). She sang Adelaide (Arabella) at the Oper Graz and Carmen, Giulietta (Contes d’Hoffmann), Maddalena (Rigoletto) and Prinz Orlofsky at the Volksoper.
She made her debut at the Wiener Staatsoper in 2007 as Adelaide. Here, she also performed (selection) Polina and Daphnis (Pique Dame), Olga (Eugen Onegin), Giulietta (Les Contes d'Hoffmann), Fenena (Nabucco), Suzuki (Madama Butterfly), Ulrica (Un ballo in maschera), Prinz Orlofsky (Die Fledermaus) and Preziosilla (La forza del destino).

The wealthy Guillot de Morfontaine, the farmer-general BrÃ©tigny and their female companions Poussette, Javotte and Rosette are enjoying themselves in a tavern at a staging post in Amiens. The approach of a group of travellers is announced, and curious town-folk gather to watch them, amongst them Sergeant Lescaut, who has come to meet his cousin Manon to take her to a convent. The young Manon is indeed amongst the new arrivals, enchanting all the bystanders - including Guillot - with her beauty. The latter offers her a life of luxury if she will become his mistress. Though Manon rejects his advances, she feels irresistibly attracted by the prospect of wealth. Chevalier Des Grieux alo arrives on the scene. Hardly has the young noblemen set eyes on the young girl than he, too, falls in love with her completely. Manon is also attracted to him, and agrees to flee to Paris with him. However, the time which the young lovers spend with one another is all too short, as Manon finally gives in to the advances of the wealthy BrÃ©tigny. Chevalier Des Grieux is forcefully abducted at the instigation of his father, the old Count Des Grieux., who wishes to put his son back on the straight and narrow. Some time later, Manon chances to hear that the young Des Grieux is about to take holy orders. She immediately goes to visit him at the monastery of Saint-Sulpice. It only takes a few tender words from Manon for Des Grieux to succumb to her charms: once again the couple flee together. Since Manon is still unwilling to do without her luxury, Des Grieux endeavours to improve his financial circumstances by gambling at the sleazy Hotel de Transylvanie. Guillot sees him there and drums up a scandal, accusing Des Grieux of cheating. He fetches the police, and both Manon and Des Grieux are arrested. Though Count Des Grieux is able to secure the release of his son, Manon is to be deported to America. However, worn down by the exertions of prison life, Manon dies in des Grieux's arms on the way to the harbour.
